• Google hints at making mobile telephone Google hints at making mobile telephone

    13 December 2009,
SAN FRANCISCO - The Internet on Saturday buzzed with renewed rumors of Google making its own smartphone, after the Internet powerhouse said it is internally dabbling with a mobile device.

Google workers are trying out a device that “combines innovative hardware from a partner with software that runs on Android to experiment with new mobile features and capabilities,” vice president of product management Mario Queiroz said in a blog post.

Google is seeking feedback in a process it refers to as “dogfooding” in which innovations are tested internally before being offered to the public on the basis that employees should be willing to “eat our own dogfood.”

“This holiday season, we are taking dogfooding to a new level,” Queiroz wrote.

“Unfortunately, because dogfooding is a process exclusively for Google employees, we cannot share specific product details. We hope to share more after our dogfood diet.”

The Android-based mobile devices are being shared with Google workers worldwide, according to Queiroz.

The blog post came a morning after Google workers evidently excited about getting “Google phones” exchanged comments on wildly popular microblogging service Twitter.

“ZOMG we had fireworks and we got the new Google phone,” one Google worker said in a tweet. “It’s beautiful.”

ZOMG is texting slang that originated as a typo of an acronym for “Oh My God” but has come to be used when the phrase is meant a bit sarcastically or while stating the obvious, according to the online Urban Dictionary.

A growing number of US telecom carriers and manufacturers have been adopting Google’s open-source Android software in bids to challenge the Apple iPhone and Blackberry from Research in Motion.

Technology industry tracker Gartner predicts that Android-based smartphones will capture 14 percent of the global market by the year 2012, as compared with a mere two percent today, according to a report in Computerworld.

  • Indecent and Provocative emails or SMSs under CCA ISLAMABAD: The government announced on Sunday that sending indecent, provocative and ill-motivated stories and text messages through e-mails and mobile telephone Short Messaging Service (SMS) was an offence under the Cyber Crime Act (CCA) and its violators could be sent behind bars for 14 years. An official announcement by the interior ministry said that the government was launching a campaign against circulation of what it called ill-motivated and concocted stories through emails and text messages against civilian leadership and security forces. A senior official of the ministry said: Sending indecent message is a crime under the Cyber Crime Act and liable to punishment. He said that some elements had been trying to malign the political leadership and security forces engaged in a military operation in Malakand and some areas in Fata. The government has tasked the Federal Investigation Agency s Cyber Crime Cell to block or trace such emails and mobile telephones SMS. Under the Cyber Crime Act, violators could be jailed for 14 years, besides confiscation of their property. Similarly, any Pakistani living abroad and violating provisions of the act may be charged and will be liable to deportation to Pakistan. Under the campaign, all Internet Service Providers would be checked physically by the FIA on a daily basis. The directive said the campaign would also target proscribed organisations which had been using internet for malicious propaganda against security forces. The Director General of FIA, Mr Tariq Khosa, has been instructed to monitor and check stories and messages and take necessary action under the CCA. An FIA official said that strict action would be taken against all culprits in the next few days and the agency had already done a lot of work in this regard. • Karachi Girls Asking for Easy Load on Mobile Numbers Karachi Girls Asking for Easy Load on Mobile Numbers

Well, where in our society the girls are the victim, it would be prudent to note down that the girls are also extortionists in many cases. They indulge in obnoxious activities and that way cheat with the boys and as a result not only get burned by themselves but also put their parents and family in agony, as the victim boys normally take revenge.
One of the most rising trend in Pakistan is right now that many girls welcome the calls from the strangers who are the aspirants of friendship. These girls ask for mobile phone cards and the easy load of the mobile phone balanace and in return these girl talk with these boys or go on date to get a free meal. These girls also ask for the money, clothes and like to shop around. The more the easy loads and the cards, the more these girls go out and open up.

As a person drains out or ask for more favors from the girls in return of cards and easy loads, the girls dump the guy and start looking for another idiot. But the former idiot often doesn’t forget and forgive and many sad incidents have happened as a outcome. Some guys have kidnapped and raped the girls, some have thrown acid on the girls and some have simply told the family of the girls to the would be in-laws of the girls.

Parents should keep a strict vigil on the girls and I don’t see any reason why the school and college girls should have the mobile phones. Or if that is extremely necessary, then the parents should get a post paid package for their daughters and pay the bill themselves and keep eye on the mobile phone and Internet usage of the girls.
